do you have a high performance ford dealer in your area??? on the a/c if your mechanic knows how to read the pressures and understands the system you may be ok but if there is too much pressure can cause major problems

I thought there was a high and low pressure switch on these things to where the system wouldn't operate if it went past a certain threshold?

As for the exhaust, are you doing true duals (from headers back) or just cat back? Is there another dealer you can go to? With the amount of people who do exhausts on F150s, I highly doubt an exahust (especially a cat back) would void a warranty. I think they have to prove that the part you changed caused a failure for them to void it?

current mileage if it helps is 23,917

hey everyone,
Hope your still here, you've all been a big help. I have another question. I want to put a 40 series flowmaster on the 2007 expy. dual with stainless tips, capital ford in raleigh says I will void factory warranty if i do. what in the world???? he says it causes too much back pressure and/ or vibration and causes failure to factory parts, has ANYONE ever heard such a thing?????? it is a 2007 XLT 5.4 2WD currently has only about 19K miles on it

Is your mileage going backwards?

It sounds as if you went to an outside mechanic to fix your AC. Why wasn't the AC compressor covered if you're still within the factory warranty?

As far as the exhaust, Ford would have to prove the muffler caused any problem that might happen post install. That is just an excuse that can get them out of covering any future repairs. How do you think they can get away by putting Ford Racing perormance exhaust on mustangs, and still be within warranty if the backpressure issue is true. You will actually be DEcreasing the backpressure by putting a free-flowing exhaust on.
BUT, the disclaimer in the warranty manual does say that any modifications to the vehicle does in fact void the warranty. If it truly a concern, wait until your warranty expires, then put the exhaust on.

The Factory warranty on this trucks ac compressor ended after 3 yrs. it was out by a few months, believe me, I tried to get ford to pick up the tab. I went to an outside mechanic because it was half the $$ of Ford dealer still using OEM parts. and your right I got the mileage confused with mine, This is my wifes Expedition I am referring to. It does have 24-25 K miles on it and mine has like 19K on it. Ha, if you look at my post time it was 730 am and i was still have asleep, my bad. anyway, I ask this because even though the factory 3 yr 36K mile warranty is out there is still a 5 yr 60 K powertrain warranty in effect that they claim will be voided , I am in the process of talking to other dealers to see what they say, I dont want to void what warranty I have left.

Yeah, I forgot Ford had the 5yr 60K powertrain warranty on the 2007's. Most dealers will void the warranty with any aftermarket equipment because they do not want the hassle in dealing with Ford in trying to go to bat for the customer. But you may be able to find a "Mod Friendly" dealer.

No problem on forgetting which Expy you were talking about. It was just that I was reading this thread from the start and saw the discrepancy.
