I have some neon lights hooked up in the truck that wired to a rocker switch, almost every time I toggle the switch 'On' it interferes with my head unit.

It will turn the volume all the way up and scroll through all the songs on my radio.

Not only is it really creepy driving around at 1 in the morning, but it's annoying!

Any ideas of what I could do other than just not having both things on at the same time?

Pretty sure it's not illegal to have neon lights in your while driving as long as they are not red or blue, I see people with them all the time.

ooo they are inside. not outside. got cha. make sure the wires are not running by the rca for your amp or around your deck ground or signal wires. that is what most likely is causing your interference.

NC-Expy, you need to get what is called a "noise filter" and attach that to the power wire to your neons. This will reduce the noise introduced into the electrical system of your truck and hopefully eliminate your problem. Also, you may need to move the neons further away from the radio (if they are within 3 feet). Neon lights have a high frequency that they generate due to the electrical arc flowing through the neon gas. This can emit a lot of RF interference.
