I'm from SW FL, just bought a 99 EB in Feb. Love it. But the other day my wife pulled up to the pump and after filling, the truck wouldn't start. Has power, but won't crank. Changed the solenoid by battery. Nothin. Tried playing with the gearshift, got it to start once. Checked the torx bolts at the steering column and they are tight. What next????

Welcome to the site.
Is the engine turning but will run? Or is the starter not turning the engine over? Crank has many different meanings on this site.

The starter isn't turning the engine. I've checked the torx bolts by the steering column, both tight. Changed the solenoid, starter switch and the neutral safety switch today. Same result

Well here we go with changing parts without doing diagnostic. Rule 1 you don't change starter relay because it clicks. Their supposed to when battery voltage is low. Their is a test if they are bad. Second you don't change ignition switch without doing tests. You need to see if you have power from switch to starter solenoid. Their are others before you replace switch. You said the battery is good! Was it load tested? And did you clean terminals and make sure both are snug. Next will it start if you put vehicle in neutral? Please report findings so we can try to determine your problem.

Well like Myself and others have posted before, always request to get battery from back of rack not front. You never know how old that battery is. A lead acid starts to slowly deteriorate weeks after their activated. It makes sense to always get the freshest one possible, and put into service.

I bet through my years of servicing vehicles that the battery is 95% starting problems. That is always the place to start, do a load test, no matter how old a battery is. And as stated, randomly replacing parts is just a waste of money. Replace by testing

thank you for following up on repairs and fixes

On these SUVs,especially the newer ones, a battery with a bad cell can cause havoc like you wouldn't believe. When you build a vehicle with so many sensors, modules, and electronic items, that require a stable 12 volts to operate properly, just one cell in a 12 volt battery that acts up, can cause all kinds of drivability problems.

I sold batteries for years, it's like any perishable product, you've got to get rid of your oldest inventory first, or you don't make money. Why do you think coolers at your store has an opening in the back to load .
