Hi all,
As you can tell i'm a new member here and I'm hoping to get some feedback on this one because I'm completely stumped! My engine on my 2005 Expedition 5.4L 3v was misfiring pretty badly so as usual I read codes and changed all plugs and packs everything was fine until recently when I noticed rough idle and very power acceleration power. I popped the hood and here is what jumped out at me. I can't find the name of this hose or the piece of this plastic that seems to broken off of the intake manifold. I was able to release the long plastic piece from the connector. Any response at this point would be great I thank you all in advance very much! happy holidays! (the hose seems to connect closer to the passenger side)

the name of the hose. its just a Vacuum hose comming from your EVAP Purge Valve.

not sure if the housing where it was attached om the manifold is broken.
if a new Fitting would even be able to still be installed if not.
it looks like your going to have yo replace the manifold due to the housing where the fitting was attached broke?.

Who chopped up the purge system ? Was the electrical connection hooked up to it ? But anyway, that red hose was too stiff and it put too much pressure on the intake nipple and sheared it off. You might be able to thread a brass nipple down into the hole if you're careful. Otherwise you have to replace the intake manifold. The correct evap vacuum hose is softer and would put much less pressure on that nipple.

Use JB Weld or even RTV to glue the nipple into the manifold. You are just dealing with vacuum and not need to be 100% leak free but 90+ is desired.
The hose is very heavy duty and stiff and that is wht snapped it to start with. Get some thin plastic or thin vacuum tubing (not fuel vapor, coolant, egr hose) to fit on ends.
The connector needs to plug into the evap purge solenoid so it can open and close it.
It bleeds the excess pressure and vapors off of the top of fuel tank and burns them through engine.

Just make sure you don't go crazy with the sealant or JB weld and clog the hole.
