Hello all...

Okay, reason I'm here. I just bought a 1997 Expedition XLT 5.4 4X4...

Its got an aftermarket radio installed, which i think is the source of the problem.

When I turn the ignition off, the power stays on. Windows still roll up and down and the radio will stay on.

Any ideas?

I was thinking maybe the remote wire???

Please help!

I was thinking it was delayed when i first got it, but i noticed one day like two hours after I'd gotten out, that the windows still operated and the side step lights stayed on as well.

you need to pull the radio to get a look at the plug and connectors. It sounds like its got a remote turn on wire to a hot spot. I know it was common to run power to the fuse panel back in the day. Hopefully the previous owner didnt cut off the plugs and wire directly into the harness.

There is definetly some cut wires behind the deck and some funny looking stuff with the fuse box as well... would some pics help?

Disconnect all of the necessary wires to remove the radio and ses what you have. If you've got pics, post them up.
