Hello all, I just bought a 97 Expedition XLT about 2 months ago. I have been searching the internet for budget friendly modifications and stumbled upon your forum. I liked it so much I am now a member. Yeah!..

Anyways, I will upload a picture of my expy soon. It has nothing special done to it besides custom painted bug sheild and window visors for now. I am not 100% on the color yet. It is light blue (I know it is a Factory Color but not sure of the name).

I know there has been alot of discussion around what size tires the Expys will take and I realize each one will be different. I bought the vehicle with Cooper Discover ATR 265/75/16. I would like a more agressive tread. I can get a good deal on a set of Dick Cepek Fun Country II but they are 305/75/16. From what i heard they will probably be too big for factory suspension. I would like to do the Lift/Leveling 2-3" kit with the torsion bar keys and rear spacers. After reading dgray69's post I am a little wary. (Thanks dgray).

When some of our snow melts here I would like to know what to look for under the vehicle to see if I could attempt this leveling/lift myself. What will be worn out or rusted that will make my lift expensive? I have never lifted a vehicle before I have always lowered my cars. This is my first truck.

Thanks everyone for your posts.
Here she is, Sorry picture quality sucks on my Blackberry.. and its a little dirty because its my daily driver during winter months..

welcome aboard... and in regards to leveling lift the front does not need new keys you can get lift by just doing a torsion Twist... that is tightening the torsion bar bolts... and for the rear a coil space is your best bet which can be bought on ebay cheap... and dick cepek are a good tire I'm just partial to ProComps..... but anyways welcome

As for PA.. I plan on going to Bloomsburg this year July 9-10 for the four wheel jambo... i posted a link under the General discussion and trying to see if anyone is going right now its me an Dgray69 are trying to go as well as some "non Expy" trucks from our NNY truck club

Thats cool, now that I have a 4x4 I will probably go. Several of my friends go about every year.
