Hello to all! First, New to the forum type-thing so if I mess up and post in the wrong place apologies in advance...I'll learn as I go. I recently found myself in possesion of a 1999 Expedition XLT that I already have my hands full playing with. I'll have a profile pic and pics to add here in the next day or two. For now, here are its stats:

1999 expedition XLT 4x4,
5.4 engine
4r100 trans
44-06 TOD transfer case
9.75 rear, 3.55 limited slip
8.8 front, same
3 inch body lift (came on the truck)
315/75/16 nittos on MT classic 2 rims

Paid 600 bucks for it and drove it home. Couldn't really say no...Well, Kudos on the site!!

Well...lol...a few things, but it is a daily driver at the moment. The guy selling it was transferring to Japan, needed it gone and he called the price out. Again, even with its issues I drove it 45 miles back to my house. It was leaking oil from a hole in the timing cover and had a transmission shift problem. Interior is about a 8 out of 10, A/C front and rear works well, all the other amenities work well, 4x4 works great.
Being new to this and all, I posted the current issue in the transmission section...I hope that's the correct way to do.
Short version is it needed a solenoid shift pack and the filter was cracked in half...(some real GENIUS must have put a jack where it didn't belong...in the middle of the trans pan!)
Now it shifts but shudders hard from the moment the torque converter locks up, but I only have a 5 mile commute to work so at the moment its not a game-ender.

For the oil leak, the RH timing chain tensioner was shot, chain got loose and broke the guide, flapped around and beat a rectangle shaped hole in the top of the cover by the alternator.
20 bucks at the local pick and pull for the cover, 130 bucks for the ford factory timing set (tensioners, chains, guides) off e-bay, 20 bucks for the gaskets to put it back again. I guess I got lucky the chain didnt break and grenade the motor...its got 142k on it right now. I've been accused of wrenching before and the motor side was straight forward but the transmission is very temperamental and seems hell bent on testing my patience...as the saying goes...at least ford was kind enough to "circle" my problem...heh heh...thanks for the welcome btw.
