new to this forum, engine swap question

hi guys, I'm new here and I have seen some swap thead here but I did not see one on what i wanna do. if there is one plz link it. i have a 1999 xlt expy with a 4.6l with 230k km on it and i'm planing to swap it. my question is : am i better to go with another 4.6l or is it simple enaugh to go with a 5.4l, and if so, can you give me a list of part that i'll need to do so. the 5.4l i've seen is from a 2003 expy. thanks guys.

Hmmmm, the same is always cheaper/easier. but cost to earned value may be a different story.

thanks for the info, and if someone can tell me, if i go for a 5.4l, will i need to change my transmission ?

yes you would have to switch trans computer and much more robably better off buying a nicely used 5.4 truck and swaing what ever it is in your truck you like so much into it and parting out the rest. if you parted it out you might even make money ans it would be sooooo much easier.

okay, after reflextion i will just find a good 4.6l anf rebuilt it with some goodies and it will be it i dont realy need to go biger. and for the 7.3 it would be awesome, but i search in the forum and no one seems to ad succeed it yet and i'm not a mecanic and dont realy have enaugh money i think to make it done lol but if it was tha case it would defenitly be a diesel swap...
