About 2 months ago, my wife's transmission took a dump. In prepping the Expi for a Lightning supercharger, I wanted a tranny that I knew would handle it. Tranny shop wanted $2500 to rebuild the stock unit and only replace what was needed.

Found some guys down the road called Monster Transmission (http://www.eatmyshift.com/) and they hooked me up. Monster said their heavy duty trans would handle 450hp/450 ft lbs of torque. All internals are beefed up. If you buy their upgraded torque converter, warranty is 3 yrs, unlimited mileage. For $2700, I got the new tranny, new torque converter, larger/finned pan, and a shift kit for my F150.

You just can't beat that. BTW, they offer free shipping. Check'em out.

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. Can't wait to see your expy supercharged. . . . how does the wife think about it? Does the new tranny shift a lot firmer now with the shift kit?

It was actually my wife's idea to go supercharged...per se. She was looking for more power and I ran across a post on the F150 boards talking about using the Lightning superchargers on the non-aspirated 5.4L 2Vs. Her 04 Expi is the last year of the 2V motors so we decided to try the Lightning charger. For the most part, it is a drop-in setup. Obviously the computer will have to be tuned to reflect the higher air/fuel needs.

Hoping to get the install done by Christmas. Been working on a custom fiberglass sub enclosure since the weather was nice. Supercharger install is next. Wife is super pumped about seeing what the increased power will do...so am I.

New tranny does shift more firm...but it is nothing neck-breaking. Just a nice firm shift.
