I have a 2001 expeditio with the 4.6 in it. We sarted having problems a few moths ago with the engine turning over but it would not run. I assumed it was the pats system so I had a remote starter put in with the key bypass thiking this would fix the problem. When the truck wouldnt crank I would try the remote start and that wouldnt make a difference. So then sent the ecu off to have the pats removed, got it back and it fired right up. Drove it around, shut it off and started up fine. Went to get gas and drove it back home, parked it for 45 miins went back out and same thing happens. So I changed out the crank position sensor and same thing. When it wont start Im not getting any fuel or spark. I have ran out of options as to what could cause this, any help is appreciate

Sleeper, I know this is going to sound silly, but check the status of your battery. If the battery voltage drops too low as you are cranking the truck, the ECU will attempt to reset itself which will also cause the ECU to go "dead" for a little bit, blocking any signals for the fuel pump and COPs.

I took the coil pack off and grounded the spark plug while trying to start it in a no crank condition. Fuel pressure was tested with a gauge on the schrader valve. Thermo, The night i changed out the cps the battery died. I put it on a slow charge over night and when i went to crank it the next morning it did the no start condition but it hasn't done it since the initial crank up and i have driven it 300 miles so far with out the no start condition happening.

The problems have came back. I have put a new battery in also. The only thing I can think to do would be replace the fuel pump.
