for half of what you paid ($14.99 plus free shipping) you could have gotten the DVD

Also agree with you and Bad Ronald about people driving in bad weather But to add insult to injury a lot don't even know how to drive in good weather and sunny days Then the night drivers add more to all the confusion

To add something when you post a reply click on the box that says "GO ADVANCED" then scroll down to where it says "MANNAGE ATTACHMENTS"

Update ( s ) still NO actual rain…
The rocker arm cover ( sticker ) states it a 5.4L
build date 4/2/89
Which matches the throttle body " cover ".. that's proof right there..LOL..

So.. the Max sound subwoofer is blown ( read completely trashed ) & the amp is crap ( but kinda working ) ..That's now all removed,
And the pass side brake light doesn't work BUT the turn ( which uses the brake light side of life on the bulb ) and the HIGH brake light works..
Trailer wiring was snipped with loose exposed ends dangling… no blown fuses though ( miracle ) Next R & D research project…

I love new project cars… they are such a challenge to see how smart OR DUMB the PO was

First off, Welcome to the forum

Sounds like you are already knee deep into the fun and games that are first generation expeditions. :mario:

...

on the way home it tosses an error code P-0174
"oxygen sensor in bank 2 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 2 is generally the side of the engine that doesn't have cylinder #1."

So looks I have a bit O checking to do for :
"In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure"

...

I'll bet $20 that its a bad PCV valve/hose assembly

Rough Idle? CEL?, P0171,P0174 - Some simple things to check first

And to add insult to injury MY dvd doesn't have the wiring schematics ….
Bedrock does your DVD have them ? Without a schematic to see which part they part is being referred to… makes it more difficult to troubleshoot

1996 1997 1998 1999 Ford Lincoln Mercury Service Manual Repair Manual

Ford workshop manual on DVD. Can be obtained from seller "morpheousking" on e-bay. Cost about $15.00 Much better than Clymer, Haynes or Chilton and also includes wiring diagrams

Don't waste your money on a Clymer, Haynes or Chilton Manual.
It is well worth the $15.00 just make sure you get the DVD for your year as the seller has different DVD's for different years

best I can say is wait till you get the DVD as that will have prints specific to your year and model. Also follow the instructions when you install it on the computer and make yourself a back up copy and then use the back-up instead of the original

Headlights polished, antenna in , engine bay minor detail. AC condenser has a hole in it.. which in itself isn't bad what bends my rod is the HUGH lump of J & B weld.. Up high & centered.. probably when installing the new radiator by the " mechanic ". New condenser on order. The heater ( both front & rear ) are not HOT but since the flush… better 80 degree discharge air… both hoses are at the same temp to the core…I tried blocking the radiator with 2 moving blankets to raise the temp.. no deal.. airs moving through from underneath… well I won't have to worry about cooling issues...

More progress on the beast

Tech maroon of the week..The previous MAROON tried to patch a 100.00 part. Now I Love J & B Weld almost more than a great cheeseburger ( but not as much as bacon ) .. But you DONT USE IT TO REPAIR AC condensers.... DURRRRRR 250 PSI pressure 270 degree heat... just will NOT work.. PERIOD.
Finished up the day with Multifunction turn switch, license plate & running board lamps.. the truck is now safe to take on the roads.. all the back end interior is pulled apart to fix the " factory " sub... but we are a GO HOUSTON...

AC working good… Keep throwing a lean bank 2 code after about 2 hrs of driving…
Other than that all is good….Replaced the coupler hose into the air intake in front of the throttle plates ( rotted ) , think I'll spray the MAF & change the PCV boot D/S.
Have to get a PC laptop running to use the DVD shop manual….. since I'm a MAC guy.

Checked intake manifold vac. 13" Hmmm not so good. The line on the back of the intake was BRAND NEW..Changed a few hoses... but the WORST LEAKERS were 2 couplers behind the battery for the Heater AC VAC plumbing..just rotted hoses which didn't have a single point leak.. more like " drip mist " hose... I replaced them both with silicone hose I had laying about.... 19.5" . NEXT...
