Oil Consumption Poll for 5.4L

I have an inherited 98 XLT that is in pretty good condition, with 125k miles on the clock.

However, I think it consumes some oil, about 1 quart of oil every 2000 miles.

While I don't think this is too bad, I was wondering what other owners of the 5.4L have to say. Please let me know.

Please list your oil consumption rate.

Minimal oil use for me.
I don't htink I burn any, just a little blow-by that my catch cans take care of.

Our Expy (~70k miles) uses very little oil.

It will use a little bit if I do a lot of towing.

I'd say almost zero in 5k miles no towing and maybe 1/2 qt in 5k miles with a fair amount of towing.

I've been running Mobil 1 since I switched over after 10k miles. I ran Ford's motor oil for the first 10k miles. As you may surmise, I change oil at 5k intervals.

My oil consumption using Pennzoil Synthetic has been zero.

I have a 2003 5.4L with 119K. My does not consume any oil between changes every 3K to 5K.

Same here 99 Expy 5.4 134k on the clock, no oil consumption either.

My 03 Exp was using a quart every 1500-2000 miles when using full synthetic oil. I switched to synthetic blend and the usage has gone down to about a quart every 3000 miles.
