overhead console Done lights w/o sunroof

I am wanting to temporally bypass the original Dome lights as the ribbon wire is bad I have some led strip lights can it be done and be reversible where the original switch and door open turns them on ?

Anything is possible for the most part.

(Haven't been able to fix stupid yet...) Not directed at the op.

If the ribbon is bad, why do you want it to be reversible?
