Sorry been busy with the holidays and traveling.

But the over all experience was terrible, terrible customer service, didn't fix an issue they said they fixed with the seat. Very little communication and when we did get a hold of them they didn't know what was going on. Took an extra 5 days longer than quoted. To top it off they bolted their license plate border around my License plate.

I should point out my terrible experience was with the local dealership and not necessarily Ford.
Thanks for the update, Static54.

Is your vehicle still experiencing the same symptoms? If so, let me explore available options to assist. What’s the current mileage?

I’ll gladly document your dealer experience as well. Please PM your full name, VIN, dealer name, and best daytime phone number.

yeah, how did I know?

But I'll tell you this much I love my Expedition, I'll build it like a monster and drive it till the wheels fall off, but I will never buy Ford again.

same problem here.. Warranty on corrosion expired 7/17/2014.. I spoke with service and they said if it's not rust it's not covered by corrosion.. Only the bumper to bumper... That expired long ago.. So the whole liftgate is bubbling up on an otherwise great looking truck..

Ford should really consider addressing this issue..

I think you're making some of that up.. Perhaps you're a GM shill who just wants to bash Ford..
5 posts on the forum, all 5 in this thread, all expressing how you had under 40k miles, but wouldn't be helped with ACTUAL rust that came through the paint, regardless of how untrue that probably is the ford Warranty explicitly says it will cover such a thing..

I don't care what Ford does .. They can put napalm in the AC units.. I still wouldn't buy a GM or Dodge.. I guess if I ever bail on Ford I'll be going to Toyota and staying there..

I find it absolutely crazy that Ford has had this same problem for over a decade on the same model. I would have been even more pissed if I upgraded my 2003 just to encounter the same thing again. Does Ford care about repeat buyers? I would have thought so especially with the dwindling segment of full size SUVs.

has anyone gotten any help with their trucks? any updates?

I should be getting mine back tomorrow. They sent it to the body shop, who decided they couldn't fix it and just put on a new liftgate. All covered under warranty.

The dealer was really concerned that I make sure the bumper to bumper warranty wasn't up, but I'm just under the mileage limit. I suspect if the new liftgate bubbles after the bumper to bumper is up, I'll be SOL. Hopefully I luck out.

We have some paint peeling on our hatch as well, on a 2008. I am honestly amazed that Ford doesn't do something to address this. When you mention it to a local dealer they chuckle and say yeah they all do that.

WTF Ford? I worked as a Dodge tech for almost 20 years ans we repainted cars all the time for problems like this, Ford just walks away? This was my first Ford purchase and if this is the way it's going to be, it might be the last.

Disappointed,

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but my old liftgate only had a couple small barely noticeable bubbles on the back. However, the inside seam right around the entire edge of the liftgate was bubbling and peeling off like crazy. Something to check even if you don't have any bubbles you can see from the outside.

I hate t say it, but you are correct. That is the only way to get things like this handled these days. Even then they will only do what will cost the least amount of money. If that is painting hatches they will paint hatches. If that is paying a lawyer to tell all of us to screw off, then they will do that. All about the money.

Well, just found out my warranty claim was denied today by Ford.

We purchased this 2010 4 days ago from Ted Britt under 100k after they pulled the warranty information and showed us the paint bubbling was under warranty .

This is my first Ford and now I am stuck with a car that FORD is denying their own warranty on. Talking to a lawyer about what legal standing we may have but its not looking good... why o why did I sell my silverado!?! At least GM honors their own freakin warranty.

They deny it because it's not corrosion. I call BS, but I doubt Ford will give on this.

If you put them out of business who will repaint your hatch?

Even if they got smacked with a massive class action over this, it wouldn't even put a dent in their bottom line. They would not even bat an eye at something like this.

I cant help but disagree, major retailers make their money from repeat customers. Cost of customer acquisition is far to high in the auto industry. The fact that Ford is ignoring this rather than fix it shows me that it would hurt their bottom line very much so if they are willing to lose repeat customers.

I will look into starting an online petition for us.
