PATS PROBLEM? 2000 Eddie expy

OK.. I searched back quite a bit and didn't find "exactly" my issue... what is happening is this: walk up to the truck hit the remote, it unlocks the doors get in and turn the key, all that happens is the engine cranks (no fuel, i believe) then I turn the key off and hit the lock on the remote and then the unlock and the car will start right up.... but not always on the first try, most of the time I have to repeat the process 2 or 3 or more times... a couple of times the engine was cranked so many times it started to run the battery down... when it does work it starts right up after just a second of cranking..... the other problem I have is I only have one key and fob for the truck... I bought it as a re-vinned vehicle... stolen with all id removed and re-vinned by state registry... I did have the original vin but have since lost it.... dealer tells me without original vin they cant not reprogram another key.... If I am going to get any help I know it is here. thanx all........Scott

Try cycling the ignition key to on 2-3 times waiting about 8-10 secs in the on position. Then start. If it cranks up it points to a problem with the fuel pump/check valve. This is without locking/unlocking the doors.

Security system problem

DIDN'T WORK... STILL RANDOM... IT ONLY HAPPENS IF I USE THE KEY FOB TO SET THE SECURITY... I STOPPED USING IT AND LOCK THE DOORS WITH POWER LOCKS... NO PROBLEMS... I FORGOT AND USED THE KEY FOB 4 DAYS AGO... HAD TO LEAVE THE TRUCK AT WORK AND TAKE HOME MY SERVICE VAN... NEXT DAY STARTED RIGHT UP....HHHHHHEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP...LOL ANY WAY OF DISABLING THE SYSTEM?... ANY IDEAS?

I can tell you when my pats disabled starting my expy it would flash the theft light rapidly. It will crank but not start when the pats disables it so its a fair possibility.
