Would like to add or upgrade sensors to the PCM. Fuel rail pressure etc..
So long as there is a empty pin, and add it to the PCM to monitor and alarm?
Who does this?

Just idle speculation...seems that monitoring FRP on a Gen1 would require a pressure sensor on the fuel rail test port with a wired connection to the PCM. The sensor's output would be in an electrical format the PCM can handle - resistance, voltage, digital, whatever. Then the PCM has to be programmed/configured to accept that data and make it accessible. Considering how small the potential market is, I wonder if such a product even exists?

I know pins are available on the connector.. Doesn’t the laptop version Forscan allow programming in the PCM?
I don’t know if a product exist but If you could get a newer plumbing with the FPS already attached, then assign a pin, and do the program process.. Surely you can do that, I would think.. The readout could be straightforward with digital.. Somebody does this, because I’ve seen custom molds for the Expedition for extra meters..

FORScan doesn't support programming Gen1's, mainly because the PCM architecture and datacomm protocol aren't the same as what's been used from Gen2 onward. That's how I interpret grok's opinion on the subject. But if you can get a sensor with a dedicated meter, couldn't you bypass the PCM altogether?

Of course, for some reason I wanted to keep it like it came from the factory.. The speed of this PCM would probably cause more problems by adding to it..
