Please help...

Driver's side window wont go down. The driver's door panel will work all the other windows except the driver's door. When the button is pushed, I get a clicking sound under the dash. Any ideas??

if you hear the relay click under the dash when you push the drivers window switch up and down...you could open the door and pound on the panel a bit while pushing the switch...sometimes its a corroded connector...However I would bet you got a bad window motor...my 2 cents

Thanks for the response. I think you are right. I torn the door apart last night and checked all the connections, fuses and anything I could think of. Everything looked fine so I put it all back together and went to bed deciding to get a new window motor today. Then while driving to work this morning I accidentally dumped the window switch and the silly window magically went down and now seems to be working again. So I guess I'll hold off on a new motor for now.

I have the same problem. All the other windows work and the relay clicks. Even swapped the relay with another one of the same part number and still the same. It worked fine the other day and all of a sudden nothing. We have has a lot of rain and wonder if that might have something to do with it. This is a 2000 Expedition. So I take it you just apparently found a loose connector or something like that? I will look at it when weather permits here in CA.

Drivers window motor and cable regulator fails first because it's opened 3 times or more often than any of the other 3. Because your hearing the relay, and because it has operated, you very strongly have a motor going out. If you heard the motor just spinning then it would be the regulator. Pull switch assembly and be sure you've got power/ ground, and continuity at switch. An old trick I've always done on failing motor, is to lightly tap motor with panel removed. You only get 1 or 2 movements on failing motor. So be prepared to pull and replace.

Unless you've been living in a cave Mr wpatters, first editions have horrible water leaks through windshield into Gem module, and inside fuse box. If you haven't already please seal your window all around top to bottom. 3 m window dealer in black tube that goes into caulking gun is best/cheapest. Tube is $20.00 at Oreillys/ auto zone. Every one has a caulking gun.
