Heh, you'd need either clear housings or shoving the turn signal and reverse all in the reverse section of the housing. Granted, I think remember someone did that with incandescent bulbs in their 07+ tail lights. They threw a "turn signal" bulb in the reverse space (not sure if it was amber, or one of those chromed amber bulbs), along with the factory 921 reverse bulb. I think they wired the stop signal to come from the 3rd brake light, leaving the running light filament alone. For the turn signal, they ran wiring from the front turn signals to the back.

Granted, I've always wanted to throw something in the 07-10 tail lights. They're so rectangular that retrofiting should be easy. Maybe some XP-Gs. Hmm... Maybe when I have some more time and monies for a spare set.

Personally I cant see those light fitting on our trucks without looking out of place. The only place, and only if it can be done properly would be the mirrors.

Freeway, I am done doing new taillights for my expedition. I have a set of LED tail lights that have 400 LEDs per tail light. I know all too well about how to make workable tail lights. I'm in the process of making some for my Jag though. Now that is going to be interesting. Thinking about something along the lines of a Caddy CTS taillights for on my Jag. But, that is a completely different story all together.

WHOISMOOTOO, wrong, more like white/amber/red. But, you have the idea. Imagine a tail light that would toggle between the 3 colors based on what you were trying to do. Bright red for stop, dimmer red for the running lights, yellow for the turn signal, and white for backing up. Get a slight smoke tint on the main housing and about 200 of the SMD chips, I'm sure that would look pretty good and have the brightness that would be needed.

WHOISMOOTOO, I have an 03 Jag X-Type at the moment, but thinking about trading it in and getting either an XFR or an XK. Granted, the XJ is still fond to my heart, but i would want a 2011 XJ with the new supercharged 5.0L motor. But, at $110K, a little bit out of my price range. I need to get a house first. I'm a moderator for a Jag club. I have fun fixing the cars over the internet. Over there they need my electrical expertise a little more. Gotta love a car with like 20 computers inside of it.

sgtowing, take a look at the attachments. This is what the inside of the tail lights look like. Keep in mind that there are alternating rows of red and yellow leds. Both would never be lit at the same time. Also, I updated the lights in the front doors of the expy. I am getting ready to dive head first into LED lighting inside my Jag. What I will end with up once I am done, who knows. With me, the sky is the limit. I'm tempted on getting a bunch of SMD 5050 LEDs and really having some fun. But then, I'm thinking something like that needs to be more visable, so, look out headlights/taillights. He he he he.

Freeway, I was doing each light like that in about 30 minutes. Most of the time is just prepping the lead lengths so you use the LED leads as your wiring between everything. ONce you get soldering, the rest goes pretty quickly. Now, when I did my tail lights, I was soldering for hours. But then, I was soldering up almost 800 LEDs. That takes a little bit of time.

One of the things that I contemplated at one point was drilling a series of holes down the sides of the headliner and dropping in say 70K MCD LEDs. Then, instead of having the single bulbs light up the interior of the truck, these 2 strips of LEDs would. The options are limitless. The only limit is what you dream up. At one point I was going to be building a custom sub box for a fellow Expy owner and we were going to etch the plexiglass for his sub and then use some LEDs to shine the light through the plexiglass which would have caused the etched portion to shine the light out at people. Would have looked really good. Then, you can have anything you want written on the plexi.

not a bad idea...thats what i ultimately want anyways...plexiglass top/front...i'll PM you on this...
