I have an SCT programmer that I use on my 98 explorer. When I sell the explorer, I'm keeping the SCT. Is it compatible with 2003 Expeditions? I'm pretty sure it is, just wondering if anyone else is using the same thing.

What other programmers are popular, and what features do they have?

i have superchips...if its anything like mine u had to register your VIN...and then it locked to your VIN...i would have to call Superchips to unlock my programmer to use it on another vehicle...or pay $200 more dollars to program another vehicle...

good luck

I just bought the Edge CS (Color Screen) programmer and all I can say is wow... I don't know if SCT is transferable to the expedition... i know my edge only works on 97-03 F150 and same generation expys... it wouldn't work with a explorer... might wanna check with SCT... but the best bang for your money is Edge
http://www.edgeproducts.com/

Or if you wanna spend more money there are places that sell "custom tuned" Programmers... basically an edge with custom tunes...

SCT says no problem I can use it on the Expedition. I just gotta get someone to sell me the files for my truck. It cost me only $50 last time from Doug at BAMA chips, for the explorer. He's not there any more, and they quit programming trucks.

On the explorer the towing program made a huge difference. Towing my camper on a 4 hour drive to the Keys we used to get 12 mpg and had a hard time maintaining 65 mph. With the towing tune we got 15 mpg and could pull right up to 80 mph easily. It was unbelievable.

It makes an equally big difference on the Expedition.
When I first plugged mine in, I though it was a different truck.

Easily the best money that I've spent on this truck.... and I've spent alot.

Superchips Vortex 1950...$399 plus shipping if you buy from Superchips...i did next day FEDex and total was $427...but there are other shipping modes. its the only one that has a 2yr drivetrain/powertrain warranty for superchips...internet upgrades...you can also program other vehicles for a small fee to unlock it for mutiple VINs...i love it...

I'm really happy with my Hypertech on the 2010. Just programmed it this morning and what a difference!
