Anyone else experience this? I searched the forums but didn't find anything. Found a lot on replacing them and it looks like mine might have lost their plastic spring clips. Wondering if vibrations just caused them to break. I feel kinda lame bringing into the dealer but maybe they will upgrade them to the LED ones?

I'm surprised no one has encountered this issue. I guess maybe the previous owner pried them out and broke the little plastic tabs? I was just going to buy the nice bright ones, but I figured I'd see if the dealer would give me free ones under warranty. I called them and setup an appt for: 1) puddle lights, 2) power running boards sticking...again 3) sunroof rattle TSB? and 4) 21B10 reflash. That's a mouthful and I will be impressed if they get 2 of the 4 issues addressed. I suppose they'll tell me I have to lube the running boards myself, but honestly I think that's lame for an $80k vehicle to have to do once a year. Updates coming after my Nov 22 apt. Fingers crossed...

I turned my running boards off in the closed position. Been that way for about a year. The would never go back to the closed position before no matter how much lube or cleaning I did. They wanted 2k for motors to be replaced. Yeah....

During regular maintenance on a 5K or 80 K or Evan 1.1Million vehicle is needed to keep parts and filters clean and working properly. Greasing the running boards is a big part of that. I do mine twice a year because they are the things under the truck getting hit with road dirt salt water and what ever that stuff is on the roads.

The puddle lights falling out might be covered, but if the clips are broken I doubt it even if you are not the one to have broke them.

The sun roof rattling is not fun I hate a rattle. I have had good luck and mine has never done it. I do open it once a month and clean the channels, then twice a year lube it with Slyglide.

Good luck with your repairs. Just remember you catch more flys with honey then you do with S----

Finally got the truck in to the dealer. They confirmed they are broken and covered under the extended warranty, but I'd have to pay the $50 deductible. IIRC, the aftermarket brighter lights are less than that, so I'm placing an order now.

I ended up using some hot glue on mine. If I ever need to replace them, I figure I can always use some heat (carefully) to loosen the glue or worst case, gently pry and buy a new lens. On my '16 the factory bulbs were halogen; I replaced them with LEDs which are indeed, much brighter.

FYI, I got the RUXIFY lights and they rock at only $11! (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RVKTWDB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details)
Regarding my other service items:
21B10 service done - no significant change noticed after a few days
Sunroof TSB done - so far quiet as can be
Runningboard - cleaned and lubed, working fine.

Kudos to Bill Pierre Ford in Lake City (Seattle) - no charge on any of it and they even called the next day to make sure everything was going fine.
