Hey gang,
This weekend we just upgraded from a 1998 XLT to a 2016 Platinum. Just getting used to all the bells and whistles and had a question on setup of door unlocking.
My 2007 Lexus has the ability to sense when you're approaching the car (as long as you have a key) and it turns on the courtesy lights (puddle/interior/etc). When you touch the driver handle, the door will unlock. If you grab any of the other handles, all doors will unlock.
I have not been able to find a similar setting on this truck. I know I can unlock the driver door by touching any number on the keypad, but what if I want to open the passenger door (from the passenger side, for example to open the door for my bride) without using the key fob? Is there any way to do that?
Thanks for the help!

Seems to be working normally, this ain't a Lexus. :)
Intelligent Access (If Equipped)
The system uses a radio frequency signal
to communicate with your vehicle and
authorize your vehicle to unlock when one
of the following conditions are met:
• You press any button on the keyless
entry keypad within 3 ft (1 m) proximity
of an intelligent access key.
• You press the luggage compartment
button.
• You press a button on the transmitter.
If excessive radio frequency interference
is present in the area or if the transmitter
battery is low, you may need to
mechanically unlock your door. You can
use the mechanical key blade in your
intelligent access key to open the driver
door in this situation.

Lol, you're not wrong. Just wanted to double check. My buddy has a different Ford (Edge) and his has this capability. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks!

On my wife's 2017 Limited Expedition I programmed the drivers door to open with the key fob or door key pad. This makes sure that when she opens up her Expedition, by herself, only the drivers door opens so no one can jump in from the passenger side. When I want to open up the passenger side door(s) I use the door arm rest unlock or use my key fob. Just thinking safety.

I totally agree. My Lex will not allow the other handles to unlock if the key fob is just by the drivers door. If you are standing near any of the other three and grab a handle, it will unlock all doors. Its a nice feature. I figured this truck, being 9 years newer, would have a similar option, especially since Ford has it on other models.

My wife had a 2017 Explorer that opened when you touched the drivers side door with the key fob on you. I did not like that....
