I didn’t like how my 2016 EL with tow package sat with my approximately 3500lbs rv with w/d hitch. Ended up getting the Sumo Springs for Coils.
Was kinda worried that the truck would ride hard with them installed. However, I’ve not noticed a difference. Also, have not pulled the rv since installing. Of course, the idea is for the truck to not sag from the weight of the rv with them installed. I understand the theory behind it. However, ready to see it with my own eyes.

SaggyButtMAX.JPG

Hi ALL

I talked to BILSTEIN and they don't agree with 5100 for the 2012 MAX - they have 4600 regular non-adjustable.
Sooo... not sure how to proceed? Does anyone have the 5100 part number that will work for me?

PIC is my loaded MAX with trailer and the butt is saggy... it is 1" low when empty and when loaded, it looks whacky
I could use 2" lift and I found the STAGE3 company has a lift 2" thatmight work but it is a set 3" front and 2" rear

I'm asking them if I can get the rear only setup?

Please advise!

Cheers Clive

Is there really much difference between the GEN3 and GEN4 Expedition
I can get GEN4 Bilstein 5100 shocks - if they will fit OK I will go with those

Anybody want to chime in?

Cheers

Try checking Ford part numbers for compatibility. If the part numbers are the same, the aftermarket part should work with either generation. Also, for the trailer, check the height of your ball. For my hitch, the top of the trailer ball receiver had to be positioned within 1" of the top of the ball. If the ball is not positioned correctly, you'll need a hitch that allows you to adjust the ball up or down as needed. It's difficult to tell from the photo, but it looks like the ball may be too high for the trailer ball receiver. If you drop it a little lower, it may reduce the sag.

I bought this trailer 2016 Starcraft 28BHS and drove for 8hrs
It came with a load leveling hitch and weighs about 6000lbs
Seems OK on tow... Waiting for my Bilstein 5100 to arrive from ESSEX Canada
