Rear door Locks

So I buy a 01 expedition and the two rear doors do not unlock without being pulled up by hand. The other weird thing is neither of the back running board lights turn on. It sounds when I hit the unlock its trying to move the lock but nothing happens.

did you check the bulb? wiring?

Gotta check on the bulbs just weird they are both out at the same time. Can never figure out wiring not to great at it failed my eletrical class twice.
Is their an easy way to pull and check the bulbs is it simple I havent looked.

i got on the ground on my back to check wiring & bulbs under the floorboards,

the wiring often rots out

if the rear door locks seem, or try to move, it's prob the actuators inside the doors

You have my curiosity piqued now. What electrical class did you fail? I hope it wasn't entry level.....

I recently changed my rear lock actuators. Got them on line. Not that bad to do. You need to drill out the rivet holding them in and use a bolt and nut of similar size. I had extras in my collection. Helps to attach the nut on the new actuator over the hole with some adhesive. Just makes it easier. Hope this helps
