My '03 with 44,000 miles that I recently purchased developed a whine beginning at 40mph and continues through the upper speeds. I had Ford replace the rear with a ring gear and pinion set along with all the seals and bearing that go with it. My question is has Ford fixed the problem or will this come back soon. I plan on pulling my 32' super slide camper.

I think you need a larger TV 32 foot is way to big for the Expy,
yes you will kill the rear end in the expy, you should really have an F250 to move that trailer. GCVWR is probly 13,500 lbs if not less. with all the stuff packed and people in the truck (yes you have to deduct from the tow rateing everything you put in the expy including people) not to metion the short wheel base
of the truck.

That bites, I thought my owners manuel said it could tow a 8600# trailer. Mine only weighs 6800#.

I went through 3 rearends and one rebuild of the front differential. I was not happy...but it was covered under warranty. I finally traded the 03 (because of to many problems)for an 05 and I couldn't be happier.

32 foot long trailer is really to long for a expedition you really need a excrusion or a f250 or bigger i mean the expedition is based on a f-150 and the excrusion is based on a f-250 and as far as how long of trailer you can tow with a expedition i would go over a 28 foot trailer and that still alittle long

My 1500 Suburban 4x4 pulls it fine but it is getting a few too many miles for me to be comfortable pulling it for a long distance.

IIRC a sub has a longer wheel base than the expy that really makes a diffrence. The frame is longer too
