I was having tons of trouble with the "Idiotic Design" too. I opted for a non-marring trim tool to assist when pressing on the designated places. It gets a little easier each time I do it now . .

I recommend everyone own a set of nylon non-marring trim tools for tasks like this, good post-Christmas gift for yourself to buy with gift cards!

It is always a pain to get off. I just look at the bright side. It’s not going to fall off on its own.

I guess that I was just lucky, as mine did fall off. I must not have secured it correctly. I got to buy a new one on the internet!
