Removing the dash on an 30 expy!

i think i have a short in my dash and want to fix it. the raido shorts out and i hear a cracking sound. any advice?

2 screws at the top of the cluster to take out...under the "lip" if you can call it that...with the engine on...drop gear selector all the way to 3rd gear and turn off...disconnect battery and pull on face of panel...i go left to right...2 connectors for light switch and another for something els...connector for message center...another for something else...then disconnect the digital a/c controls...once everything is disconnected...everything should pull right up and out...

once the radio is exposed...4 screws and pull unit out...orange cord in bak is the power cord and you'll have 2 wiring harnesses on back...too easy

may be able to find on youtube as well

Only thing I would do different is not turning on the engine. Just turn the key to ON and push the brake before going all the way down (I think it's "1").

Also, make sure the parking brake is on before doing all this :)
