I am planning on taking the stock front bumper off and making a full tube front end for Big Blue. I have the factory fog lights in the bumper, can I rewire some KC lights into that harness or will a stronger light burn up the factory stuff? I only want 2 lights in front and do not want to have to pull wires and mount switches.

Has anyone done this?? I am making the front bumper look like the one on the cover of the latest 4wheel and offroad magazine. It is on a Suburban but the look is the same.

Always glad when i see someone taking apart an expy!

Bumpers, seats, etc... who needs 'em?! :)

I'm looking at the same situation and thinking the wattage rating will be a
problem. Factory is probably only around 50 or 60 watts.

You could use the factory wiring to power a relay and just run power to your fogs from the battery.

I think Hella has a kit for this, but relays are easy to come by.
Let us know how you decide to run them!

What ever lights you go with just convert them over to HID not only will they be brighter, but the factory harness will handle the wattage since it is lower. There is a thread somewhere on here for converting the Hella 500's over using an H3 HID kit pretty easy to do and alot more light output for the money!
