Thanks to a speeding idiot that ran a red light and smashed into our Eddie.
She's totaled and now we have to replace her.

Thanks guys and yes I'm looking for another expy but probably newer or as far as my wallet lets me spend. This thing kept my family safe and as much as i hated taking her to the pumps, plug change, cleaning and waxing her up in the emd she came thru and protected my family. Im looking into the 03-08 but one thing that caught me eye is that the 07s and up has a 6 speed auto trans so im assuming that the 07s and up are more gas friendly on the open road. Walnuts your expy is nice for me but the wife will need a ladder to get up there lol.

We had a member post a few days ago that was very unsatisfied with his 6 speed, though he seemed to expect his truck to be more of a rocket than a 3 ton SUV. His testimony is in the Product Reviews section if you want to read through it. Logic does say though that more cogs means better fuel economy.

Ok thanks ill look for his review and see what he has to say. I'd tell you that if I could find a nice clean EB like the one we had with low mileage I'd be all over her.

Honestly for the price these 1st gens go for now, I would be looking in that area too. Of course I am less interested in ride quality and cushy stuff that a family man may be looking for and more interested in the trucky qualities that the newer gens just don't seem to have.

Not to discount Daoud's post, but we paid 1700 for my mom's 2000 about 3 months ago with a good motor and trans with 180k on the clock. Look hard and you can find someone who just needs to get rid of it for fuel mileage concerns.

I'd figure i would give you guys a heads up of my long and thorough search for a replacement expedition. My search first began at a local small dealer (very nice people there btw) 13 miles away from home since thats where i first found and fell for the 07 eddie bauer that i saw online. Not knowing anything about these 3rd gens i decided to go and take a look for myself and i was really impressed when i got there and so was the wife. Their asking price wasnt so bad but it wasn't what we wanted to pay since we had a budget to stick with. I left this dealer now that i knew how the 07's looked like and started looking into the 03-06 since the 00-02 i found where very high mileage and the ones that had close to 100k miles the sellers wanted a good 5k+ for them so I figured that if I'm going to pay 5k+ i might as well look into the 03-06. I looked deep, hard within 150 mile radius for a decent looking low mileage 03-06 expedition and looked at a few of them locally but hardly any I looked at where impressive and the ones that caught my eyes had that rust on the tailgate or other flaws at 100k miles. I also noticed that for the same price give or take a few 100s you can buy an 06 for what you would pay for an 04 so now I'm looking into the 06's and the hunt for an 06 was just as bad and not to mention that I hardly found any 06's for sale anywhere near me that not only would catch my eyes but the wife's also.

On day 11 i found a nice 2006 red eddie bauer 2 hours away so i called them up to see if it was available and it was so the next day i picked up the wife at work and started heading to Rhode island but 3-4 miles into Our trip i decided to call and make sure it wasnt sold and to our luck they sold the freaking thing..... Now after 16 days of being expedition-less and waking up every day at earlier to bring my wife to work and daughter to school, then son across town for school in my little Mazda I decided fck the budget I'm going to call the dealer I saw the 07 expy to see if they have it and make them an offer. I called up the dealer and again these people treated me better than the people at Mazda dealer when I bought my car and they made me feel comfortable from day one and where upfront with everything so after a little back and forth we agreed on a price and took this lovely truck home just yesterday.
