Had the truck treated at a Krown Rust Control Center today here in Michigan. Second time I’ve done this. Did it once last year and now today. I swear by this treatment method. It’s not undercoating, it’s not snake oil. This stuff works. Incidentally, I asked him if he could spray the inside of my power steps. He said he’d never done that before but he was able to find a safe place to drill them out of sight and fog the interior with the oil. I have no idea what the power boards are made of, but if they are steel, this will protect them. 3a44409130db314e6597e3904ed921e1.jpg

I had my 2014 done this spring, think its great. It dripped for 2+ weeks but I parked out in front of the house to save my driveway (still have marks on road there). I flushed out the rocker panels with the garden hose before Krown. I bought 2 cans of Fluid Film and have cardboard sheets ready to do another thick coat inside rocker panels. The cardboard is for the driveway if that drips.

I also bought 2 cans of Liquid Wrench Rust Inhibitor that I'm selectively hitting what I think are high risk areas that already show rust from the previous 4 years. I slathered grease with my hands in a few spots too, to see how that holds up.

I started talking about this at a Graduation Party last weekend and nobody understood or cared! TFF My 2003 Rustbucket rocker panels are 90% gone. Wondering how much longer I can drive it.

I’d drive it until a major failure occurs, rusty rockers aren’t going to stop it from rolling down the road.

when i worked for an aerospace overhaul unit, we used this stuff called Bo shield. it was fogged into all kinds of nooks and crannies to keep out corrosion, its very to other name brands and lasts long time.
i used to do my truck once a year with it...

Wish I had a place closer to me.
I’ll be doing the DIY fluid film once we get a little closer to winter.

We don't have any shops here (Pacific Northwest) that seem to know a darned thing about rust prevention. They are only just now starting to put some salt on our roads in Winter after years of banning it due to environmental concerns. I just got a '17 with less than 15K miles and I am really interested in preserving it for the long term. I was considering getting it undercoated but I'm not quite sure what to do.

The DIY kit is $149 and includes the sprayer for the main coating and the wands to get inside the frame rails.
Supposed to be enough for 2 large vehicles. So next year just will need to buy another gallon.

The closest Krown applicator is 5 hours away.
If it were a one time application I’d make the drive. Or if something close to there was worth the yearly drive.
