GEN 2 - Shock and Spring Upgrade for towing

I have 2005 Expedition with 6000lb towing capacity.

We are looking to pick up a new trailer that has a 5700 GVWR.

I am looking for website or recommendations on where I can pick up Heavy Duty Springs? I will upgrade the shocks as well. But need to get the expedition to carry a heavier load.

Any help.....

Also tried searching the forum first but couldn't find anything, if there is an existing thread that would be great as well.

Thanks,
Mike

Looking at the 05 owners manual it list the Trailer weight with 5.4L with
standard trailer tow package as 0–6000 lbs.
But with the 5.4L with optional trailer tow package 0–8600 lbs.

Frontal area of the trailer is also a factor.

You don't mention if your getting a RV or what. If you are considering a RV I would suggest the following: since you are in Colo and the mountains I would suggest that you consider adding the heavy duty tow package on your expy which would include a weight distribution hitch, Trans cooler and brake controller and 7pin wiring connector. And sway control.

For the shocks, Bilstein, Monroe and Rancho shocks are my top choices. Have the Bilsteins and there's a noticeable improvement on handling and ride quality.
