Although it's probably one of the safer aftermarket modifications, it's still a change I'm not willing to make on a brand-new 70K+ vehicle at this time :). Maybe later when I no longer have temp license plates :). Everyone loves the after-market until *!@ starts breaking (though there's very little, if any risk of it happening here, I also know that manufacturers will do anything possible to avoid a warranty claim if they have cause).

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I was referring to the ride on the GM's in particular the Suburban and same for the floor. They had the same shimmy the Silverado has when one rear tire goes over off angle ruts, and the same loss of traction on grid roads when the two rear tires are striking the washboard ripples slightly offset. Guessing thats a function of the live axle.

I'm with Aquineas and aggiegrad05, the thought of a warranty claim stays my hand every time I reconsider a re-tune. Especially at the massive odometer reading of 1200 kms :)

But I am happy to go shopping on Amazon for some replacement LED bulbs, looking at another thread the following seem to be the ones to go for.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077B7GJ5J/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Still waiting for before and after pictures before I purchase and other bulb suggestions are more than welcome.

I have owned 5 ECO Boost Vehicles
They are
2011 F150 3.5L dual turbo GDI
2013 Flex 3.5L dual turbo GDI
2013 Taurus SHO 3.5L dual turbo GDI
2016 Explorer Sport 3.5L dual turbo GDI
2018 EXPY XLT FX4 HD Tow 3.5L dual turbo GDI & Port injection
The F150 & the Explorer Sport were driven nearly 100K Miles
All were recalibrated with Livernois software
ZERO problems with any of them
Have ordered calibrator from 5 star to recalibrate the ECU on my 2018 EXPY
Once you experience the huge difference in performance there is no going back:33:

Not without aftermarket tinkering, which is not appealing to a lot of folks (myself included).

Agreed, lots of folks don’t want to do that. I’m willing to do it on mine, but the 5-Star unit just hit the market and there will probably be others. I’ll let others be the guinea pigs for this before I jump in.

There is a little different throttle response and torque curve for the Platinum over the Limited. You can get a few more horse out of it on 93 octane fuel under ideal circumstances at higher RPMs. Quite honestly, no one is really ever going to notice. They advertise it as if it’s a larger number than it really is.

I’d say a good number of the people who choose to tune their engine with aftermarket solutions are looking for better mileage and efficiency, not always about superior performance/ horsepower.

Understand
I want both better performance & as a secondary benefit the better fuel mileage I have experienced

Does the tune touch the power assisted steering? On eco mode I find the on center feel at highway speeds to be very loose, the Explorer gave a feeling of being on rails and you had to actively steer to move it off center. The Expedition not so much although I haven't tried sport yet on a long cruise.

Still better than the traverse which reminded me of a plane engineered to be unstable and needs constant course correction to keep straight.

edit maybe a new topic for this?

not sure about the power steering
I do feel the difference between my 2016 explorer sport & our 2018 EXPY though
Have not tried it in sport mode either
