Don't actually have an Expedition yet, but I'm planning on it as soon as this piece of crap Chevy truck that I currently own is paid off in a few months. So I'm here to learn about the Expedition, particularly the 3rd or 2nd Gen.
I used to be a lifelong Chevy guy. Despised Fords. Probably only because my dad grew up a Chevy guy, and so, I liked Chevys. I would literally feel annoyance at even the sight of a blue oval at one point (WTH). LMAO.
Well finally, I've been burned one too many times by what is increasingly becoming the worst domestic automaker in existence. Unreliable junk. The kicker was buying a total lemon of a Chevy truck brand new and having nothing but problems with it.
I've been warm to Ford the past 12 years, and only got warmer as the years went on, until now I can say that I love FoMoCo vehicles. For the past 12 years, I've been driving P71 Crown Vics at work and they have done nothing but impress the heck out of me. When you drive a car for 12 years, and drive it fast it basically becomes part of you. You know it inside and out. And they've never let me down. After being let down time and time by a Chevy sitting on the side of the road, my work experience has transformed my loyalties. When we recently had our first born son, my wife needed a new vehicle for mom duty. We went and got her a brand new Ford Explorer, and we love it.
But for me, I prefer something RWD (4X4 if possible) and more able to go off the road when I need to than the Explorer. And, my side business when I'm not at work, is aviation photography, and wildland fire photography. So I've been in some pretty hairy areas. Now, with an Expedition I know I'm going to lose ground clearance over my current truck, but I will tackle that later. Right now, I just need to find something that won't break down and get me killed out there in a burnover. Really looking at SSVs as an option. They are beaten at times during their career, but well maintained.
To finish this novel out, I thought I'd show some examples of shots I get out there. Military aviation is fun, but the wildland fire stuff is exciting because of where you have to go to get it. I find myself on cliff faces with my truck all the time. It's a blast.

Thanks for reading, everybody. Glad to be here
