Ok I’m lost I have a 2007 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4l all runs great and have done complete tuneup and fluid changes and added the heavy duty tow package my self
But when you hook on to my 20 foot enclosed trailer with two atv’s inside after 30-40 minutes of pulling the suv will start sputtering and loss of power until it dies and I have to pull off the highway. I have Check the O2 sensors maf sensor and the fuel pump fuel pump relay and all the spark plugs but it feels like it isn’t getting fuel and fuel pressure is at 64 psi at the rail the only dtc code I got was p0148 fuel delivery error
Anyone have any ideas
Again once you unhook the truck and leave it for 30 minutes or so starts right up and drives fine
Any help would be great

Put some dielectric grease on the connections & mounting screws when you replace.

My '07 (5.4) shutdown one winter evening 75 miles from home. Just shutdown with "all the gauges in the green." 15 minutes later I was able to start it and head home again. Did this 3 more times including within 100 feet from my house. Felt like when a stick shift car hits the rev limiter.

Long story short -- wiring short at the fuel pump. Have to drop the fuel tank to get at it. Went ahead and put a new pump in there as well as repaired the wiring harness.

I had the Ford dealer handle the repair. I ain't that handy, especially in the dead of an Ohio winter with what was my daily driver.
