Yeah.It looks aftermarket to me as well and I think the suggestion that it's for some type of auxiliary lighting is the most likely answer. In the case of my truck, the switch was for a train horn the previous owner had installed.
That switch is aftermarket. I would take a look uneer the dash to see if you can follow the wires running to it.
I'm not sure on the 16 but on all the previous models the door code was labelled under the dash
