Hi Folks,

Ive been looking around for some Studded Snow Tires for my 07 expy that currently has 255/70R/18 wheels.

Any recommendations on brands that will fit this. There are not to many options.

Thanks,

I have General Grabber AT2 "studdable" all terrain tires, and although I do not have studs in mine they are great tires, and they come with pre-established holes for the studs. Check discounttiredirect.com for the best prices.

Pet,

I don't know where you are located in Mass, but I really don't think you need studs.

I live in the mountains of Vermont and my Ex has had no trouble with over 1 foot of heavy wet snow on unplowed roads. I also have an F250 and have never needed studded tires. Yes I have gotten stuck in the F250, but studded tires would not have helped. (I now keep more weight in the bed in the winter.)

If you are set on getting studded tires, call Michael at Ashmont Tire on Dorchester Ave. in Boston. He has great prices and service. I've bought several sets of tires from him. (I work in Boston.)

Good luck.

You can play around with tires... Like 255/65/R18. They are basically the same size only its sitting couple mm lower. (you wouldnt tell the difference) and As far as your speedometer, I dont think it will effect the mph.
For studded tires I recommend the Hankook I*pike RW11 Studded tires. I run them in alaska and theyre great around corners on snow, stopping, acceleration, etc.

Or you could always go studdless and try Hakkapaliitta R Nordic or Michelin X-ice 2 tires. Our number 1 studless snow tires up here are the Bridgestone Blizzacks if your interested. Hope this helps

studded tires

Yes the reason I want studs is the expy is just a 2 wheel drive only. I just want to put the studded snows in the rear for a couple months.

How about the Cooper Discoverer M+S studded snow ??
