I have a 2001 eddie Bauer expedition. I have removed the factory enclosure and amp for the sub. I bought a hi-lo converter and wired the positives to the positives and negatives to negatives. I am using the factory battery wire that was running the factory amp as well as the factory ground. After all this time and effort the stinking subs still don't work. Oh yeah and I have 12v going to my signal side of my aftermarket amp. What am I doing wrong? I only have the factory head unit. Any help would be great. Thank you.

I do not. I have a jumper going from the 12v power in to the signal input on the amp. The factory signal wire is only 5v and won't turn on my amp.

I have not checked that yet. How about you send me what you have found to be the color coding for the wires to the sub. What should be enough? The 5v or the jumper wire?

you can check with a volt meter. put the positive on the positive and negative on the negative. turn the radio on. should get a little bit of volts. the amp should turn on and if its not then the wires are either messed up or the amp is dead.

Well I figured out today that the amp and subs are fine. My problem now lies in connecting the factory head unit to the amp. I'm not sure what wire is what and goes where. Keep in mind I have an 01 expedition.
