Hi Trail22 not knowing what type of offroading you will be doing so take as you take. Based on the type of vehicle this is where heavy duty offroading is not this vehicle's intention. I can say from using mine to offroad on trails, fairly deep sand, and climbing I have never had an issue with the components giving out. In fact, it has performed better than expected. My Expy has 3.5 front 2.5 rear with 35's on 17-inch wheel. (300k on the truck with original components, I did change out most of the busings, end etc but the rest is original equipment)
As for heavyduty parts the aftermarket does not offer to much of anything fro 2nd gens (some after markets parts are the same for as the F150 truck so may have some luck there but measure twice)
There are alot of threads in this forum with lifting this truck which the only options appear to be leveling kits.
Note: Years back Rize made a kit to raise 6 inches but was discontinued and expensive. Additionally, I went from stock tires to 33inch Toyo A/T before my lift but after lift and put on the 35' made the biggest improvement offroading when climbing.
