Mine reported it had 19149 last night after the update. This morning it reports 19205! I guess it had to wait a while before the update was recognized.
SYNC 3 - which version are you at?

I don't really know if it's an improvement or not, but I like to keep my stuff up to date.
I like to keep my stuff up to date as well. I’m see if they will do it for me... I just don’t feel like messing about with it myself.
My experience, and it might be wrong:
a) first it uploads the binaries to the system and reports "update installed", but I think its only transferred and upon next restart it actually installs it. Thats why you first saw old version and then later new....just my guess
b) 19149 fixed the Waze speedometer issue but was otherwise a little "buggy" still....I think 19205 improved performance and stability overall compared to my original 18xxx version. Just my impression...

2019 platinum Everytime I try to to check for updates it does nothing the date stamp never changes. Always says 9/21/2019??

You might log onto the Ford web site and do the download to a thumb drive. I did and it worked for me. Thanks to the folks on this forum for the tip.

Did that but one would “assume” when it checked for updates that it would actually check, not just go through the motions like it was doing some thing.
Was able to update it to build 19205 although it is still Sync 3 version 3.0
I have not been able to update to version 3.3 or 3.4. Not sure why.
Build date was 8/23/19

Nothing on the site tells you the version that is being installed. I updated mine to v3.0 release 19025.
I have seen people on the F-150 and Ranger forums updating to v3.3 or v3.4, but only in the 2019 and newer models.
Not sure if we will see anything higher than v3.0, sadly. But then again, it seems to be more cosmetic than anything. I am not sure what added functions they have versus us on v3.0.

As far as I know, 19205 is the latest version of the Sync3 software. I just installed the latest update the other day, but the version didn't change. I haven't heard about anyone upgrading a 2018 system to 3.3 or 3.4, but maybe it's possible.

I think the process can be found in the Ranger forums. I can't remember right now. My browser history is on my other computer where I found it and I don't have access to it right now.

Other than being the latest and greatest version, what's the advantage of the 3.4?
