The capacity of the EL always amuses me

I agree.... I haul a ridiculous amount of stuff for the fam and love that it hauls all of my people. The biggest test of my EL was this past April. It hauled over 1 ton of dry concrete bags. I don't recommend it but I didn't have any other choices.

Well Jeff I’m a single guy in my early twenties and I drive this super wheelbase soccer mom wagon.....you can too lol! Some days I miss my short bus expy but I love the EL. When I load up drywall or plywood sheets which is every so often it’s worth it every time.

It was bought for my family - wife and I, 5 kids. Had a boat at the time, so I need to tow as well. Then, with little kids, needed run for a family, plus strollers, bags, stuff. Even for around town. The fact that it doubles as a cargo vehicle is a bonus.

This thread is precisely why I was looking for an EL to begin with. I hauled home a large wooden playset for the kids, had I been in an EL the hatch would have closed fully. I was about 7" short. People dont understand the versatility of them. Short of needing to regularly haul 1500lbs loads or needing to load whatever it is w a fork truck or crane, its nearly perfect for hauling people or stuff with the amount of flexibility it has. A friend of mine who uses an F250 short bed and does sandblast work is seriously considering one instead. Often times he has to cover things if weather is sketchy and would eliminate that us having a second a vehicle that can haul the entire family is never a bad idea.

1 ton is way over the limit, but looks like she survived. I've done the same up to ~1,800 lbs. I felt like my tires were actually the main limiting factor. The Bilsteins were holding up fine with the overload.

I was sitting in a parking lot yesterday, reading a book, while my wife went in a store to return some clothes she'd ordered (and buy some to replace those).

It was raining, kind of cold, the engine was off, the radio still playing, I had two cups of hot beverages (mint coco and cappicino ) and I realized I had a big smile on my face. Just sitting there reading, with a big stupid grin on my face.

We like ours. A lot. And nothing in the back seat other than our gym bags (stopping by on the way home).

All that room? Sort of like a spare tire and jack. Or the P07 .40 IWB on my right side. It's not there to use all the time. It's there to use in case the need arises. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Cookies....LOTS of Cookies. My Wife is a troop leader, so she has this task every year. Used to take my 250. It holds WAY more than my 250 bed, and it is dry and temp controlled.

She loves it!!
