2017 Ecoboost V6 - went to Napa to buy throttle body and was told it may require reprogramming. Has anyone else experienced this or can you just replace it without reprogramming?

The throttle body (electronic throttle control) does not need programming.

The idle will be unstable initially when you start the engine after replacement.

You can place the transmission in drive and remain stopped with the brake pedal applied, and the vehicle will learn the correct idle.

Or, you can drive the vehicle for a little while, and the idle will be relearned.

Any reason you’re not using a Motorcraft part?

I’ve replaced two or three from NAPA on Ecoboost 3.5 F150’s and never needed to reprogram anything. It will idle a little weird at first and all seemed to relearn their idle after a few miles of driving:

Thank you for your response! I’ve tried several times to contact our local Ford dealer to get info on Motorcraft parts and they put you on hold forever and then get disconnected! Will try the one that’s about 45 minutes from us! Thanks again!
