Is this from body mounting differences or suspension?NC, the 2nd and 3rd gen trucks actually sit a little lower than the 1st gen trucks in stock form. This was done to make getting in and out of the truck for the majority of people much easier. Unfortuantely, this means that the whole truck sits lower, meaning you have less clearance in the wheel wells. Hence your comment about being able to fit the same size tires with less lift on the 1st gens.
I know I read it somewhere on here but whats the biggest tire I can run with a Gen 1? it has 17" rims on it. Pics coming.

Me too. Supply and demand at its best I think.I noticed as soon as you go any bigger from the stock size for the 17" wheels the pricing starts climbing fast. Gotta pay to play I suppose.
At least he didn't say 44'sThats the wrong question to ask Thermo![]()

Thanks guys. My Expy has the stock 17" rims and are in decent shape. It needs new tires though thus my questions. It may come down to what's available in the different sizes and the associated price points. I have really only looked at Tire Rack online which doesn't have much in the 285 line that I cared for.
