Why on earth in a vehicle like the Expedition (2016) did Ford think it was OK not to include information on individual tire pressures? Even MORE annoying is getting into a rental Fusion and seeing this:

I searched, but couldn't find definitive information on adding this display through Forscan or other means. Any insight?

Everything I’ve read through in forscan thread shows it as a no go in the vehicle’s display. The information is there, you can access it with the numerous apps available like forscan, torque, etc., just not on the vehicle’s display. Very annoying. This truck is definitely the red headed step child in the family.

I ordered and bought a new 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4. The salesperson told me that the individual tire pressures could be display - he was wrong or lied.

The lack of this feature, and several others, will prevent me from buying another new Ford.

PS - Wait until you open the rear hatch and your cargo falls out. Ford engineers couldn’t figure out how to provide a cargo net, or the provisions for one.

Car salesman FTW. I always grab the first few items through the window hatch, already had a few misfires coming out the entire tailgate. Thankfully only lost a Bud Light or two.

I bought a cheap used laptop just so I could use Forescan to turn the dam yellow tire icon and the constant text off the info box and now the sellers tell me that Forescan won't work with a 2007 Navigator.

Very true.

And also, before TPMS, no one ever towed heavy loads. Ever.

TPMS alerts you when the tires are 7-8 psi below set point which is before any performance or visual difference takes effect. Not sure what individual read outs offer other than to be able to say “oh I can see the exact pressure”....if you have to re-inflate the tire the compressor will tell you the exact pressure.

Tpms is for lazy people that never check their tires until they are half flat and us responsible people have to put up with it. Those batteries can go dead in as little as 5 years and then you are starring at a bright yellow tire icon on your dash or shell out a bunch of money for new ones, matching to your computer, and breaking the tires down after removing the wheels. Plus you can't have winter wheels unless you go through the same procedure...…...pain in the butt.

I agree.....it doesn't make sense other than at least we get some warning if a problem is rapidly developing.

I had a pass side front tire lose 20lbs. I don't know how it happened, it just did. The warning came on....and of course it was the very last tire I checked.....but I pumped it up and it's been fine. Might have been some of that extreme cornering I occasionally do? Dunno but I was glad for the little warning. It might not have been so successful of a drift had I tried it on that low tire?

I do not understand the lack of position indication though unless a subsystem like one of the control modules couldn't handle the extra command requiring a change...then I can see why they didn't.

The lack of an individual tire pressure display really ticks me off as well. I have a '17 without it and we also have an '18 that has it. Not being able to verify tire pressures at a glance is very inconvenient -- especially once you get used to having it in another vehicle.

I checked into this quite a bit and still can't confirm 100% why this display can't be enabled. It's probably something to do with the Body Control Module (BCM). Our '15-'17 trucks are basically the same as a 2014 F-150. That model of F-150 had different TPMS sensors. Only the 2015+ F-150 (and 2018+ Expedition) have the display. They also have a different, more advanced BCM and may also use different style TPMS sensors.

Like active parking lines on the backup camera display, it may not be possible to get the tire pressure readout in the dash without installing the newer style BCM. This would be next to impossible unless you were a Ford engineer.

Are the individual tire pressures that important to where people are driving their cars around all day staring at the pressures? On my 18 Camry xse i will look at the pressures occasionally during big temp changes etc.. On the 15 explorer and 17 expedition I'll take my butt out to the garage and spend a couple minutes checking with a tire gauge.

I like to double check them as I'm departing. We live in a cold, wet climate and checking each tire with a pressure gauge is not fun -- especially when you're in a hurry or running late.
