Update: I sliced both hoses, much easier. I’ll try and find a coupler and screw clamps. The engineer that designed this should be burned alive. A barbed coupler will be stronger than Fords stuff anyway.

Easy out had the broken fastener out in 2 minutes. Now have to buy a valve cover bolt and put it all back together.

Lots of those hoses are goobered up. If you can't find a barbed fitting, use a piece of copper pipe or whatever fits. Mine came off easily -- I think it was the first time in my life I was lucky getting apart quick-connects. And over the years I bought every quick-connect tool made. Still can't get the piping off the tranny lines to install an OEM cooler I bought five years ago...

Finally up and running again just got back from the car wash. Feels good to have my petite little EL back. 5.4 is zippy compared to the Super Duty, don’t need near the pedal to move the Expy. Taking time to readjust after 2+ weeks with the 350 and 3,000 miles or so. It literally feels like I’m driving a comfy little Taurus or Escort LOL.
