I recently purchased an 04 expedition a couple of months ago. Currently has 94000 miles. Yesterday when driving home, I started getting a vibration at highway speeds under load. If I am cruising along at 65mph, vehicle rides just fine. When I add a little acceleration, it starts vibrating. If I let off the gas, it goes away. Does not appear to be anything with fuel or ignition as vehicle will accelerate and RPMS are rock solid.

Any ideas?

Thanks

check all ur hoses and connections as well...check alignment as well...wheel bearings...several things could be causing this...is it in the steering wheel or the entire truck

The next time it occurs, apply slight brake pressure with the gas pedal still applied. Most transmissions will disengage the torque converter clutches when the brakes are applied. If the vibration ceases you know where the problem lies.

Truck is 2 wheel drive. I drove it to day to see track down problem further. For the first 45 mins minutes, truck drove excellent. After that, it started the same problem of vibration during acceleration at highway speeds. From what I can tell, it only does it when driving over 60 mph and only during acceleration. Take foot off gas pedal, vibration stops. Confused at what would cause it to go away, then reappear.

Seems to be coming from front end

I would not count out fuel or ignition just yet. Nor airflow/vacuum. Only because I had/have some of those symptoms and it can apparently be caused my many things. My searches on misfires, stutter, rumble provided some great threads.

Fuel filter change, plug change, COP change should all be done around 100K. Sounds like you might be due.

Listen to the guys on here they are excellent!
