Vibration

I am getting the highway vibes too. At first I thought it was the bearings, but upon inspection, they said all 4 ball joints were shot.

Replacement helped a bit but its still there. I'll do more investigating this weekend when I have time and its light outside.

The sway bar links and bushings sound like something worth investigating.

I've had three ELs (07, 11, 14). The 14 is having a low vibration felt throughout the whole vehicle at 6000 miles. I am picking it up from the dealer, tonight. They did a 180 degree turn on the drive shaft and said it is smooth. Funny thing is, another customer of the dealer has 2 - 2014s. A his and hers. The hers came in for the same thing.

A bit late on this thread, but I was able to solve steering wheel vibration on my Expedition XLT 2003. This is most likely the solution for folks who tried just about everything to fix it, but it is still there usually manifesting at speeds over 60mph.
To make this story short, just remove you wheel one at the time and look at the rotors first, then take a look at the mating surface of the wheel, yes that one nobody ever looks at or does anything about it. The rotors were not too bad with rust deposit, but the wheel mating surface was covered in some sort of oxide caked up on the surface blocking the metal completely.

Now:
1. Take the drill with wire brush adaptor or small 2" air sander from Harbor Freight and clean surfaces off any deposits on both rotor and wheel until metal shines.
2. Do it for every wheel.
3. Enjoy vibration free steering wheel at any speed.

If you still have steering wheel vibration - you have other issue(s) or you did not try everything else to solve it first :)

Peace!
