Way to organize media on SD card for RSE

I bought a decent sized SD card to use on the RSE and I put some movies and tv shows for the kids on it in the respective folders. The problem is that when I put it in the RSE, it just flattens all the folders and makes a huge mess.

Is there a way to have it preserve the folder structure to clean it up a bit? How are others keeping the mess down to a minimum?

I have a similar problem. I put audiobooks on a USB. Sometimes the speakers play it in order, sometimes not. Can be very frustrating.
