My dad has a car lot that I work at on the weekends. He went to the auction and bought 2 last week, both EB's. Well today I was detailing one of them and looked at the rocker and they are SOLID. TOTALLY unheard of up here in NewEngland-lol

That is why I bought the one I did out in Kansas. I can deal with just about anything mechanical, but rust wins every time. I plan to keep mine entirely wet with rust cop as long as I own it.

I am ordering new rockers for mine tomorrow- iwas going to get them from Rockauto but with shipping they are $219 each.
PMP auto parts has super crew rockers for $130 each and disc if you buy both at the same time so I am going to get those and just cut the backs down

I bought mine from California and had it shipped to michigan on a hauler, first place it went to was the Ziebart shop for complete rustproofing and sound proofing....so far it has never seen snow or salt and I lived in Tennessee for 6 months and now back in michigan...my girlfriends garage has a much taller garage door and my truck fits inside...so mine will be put away for the winter...I have seen so many of them here all rusted out and look nasty...just cant do that...only got 100k on her so it will be around for a long time.

I just got my Expedition last weekend. A 01 with 127K that was in Florida up till 2 years ago. Rockers without any rust. Only rust I saw was just starting in the door seams. Talk about your good buy! New trany 30k ago, brand new tires, new upper/lower ball joints, new wheel bearings/front brakes and an interior that was perfect except for a small tear in a door panel that vinyl patch and touch up paint made a decent repair. Everything works too. I only had to replace the power mirror switch. That was it! $3500 was a great deal in my book!

Now to get it undercoated.

Regarding the rust you guys face up north, you make me glad I'm an original yankee (Chicago native) now in Texas. But my arm could be twisted pretty easily to relocate where there is some natural beauty and easier access to hunting :)

I agree somewhat, if rust is all I have to deal with to live in one of the most beautiful places in the country where the economy hasn't suffered even in the deepest part of the recession I'll take it

Yeah, in DFW texas, you can get rust free Expeditions all day long for under $4500...but, then you have the major downsides. Plan on driving 3+ hours and paying $1500-2000 a gun for a deer lease where you have 3 deer tags (1 being a buck) per season only to sit in an office chair in a heated, elevated box blind watching a feeder go off at precicely 5:35pm. They call that "deer hunting" here.

Give me southern U.S. hunting where you pick a pine tree and climb up and watch a deer trail.
