well lately my expy has been hesitating/skipping/shuddering when under slight load (like going up slight hill at 55). So started to look into it... replaced the little rubber elbow beside throttle body... rotted and cracked... didn't fix it... changed all COPs and all new Autolite Double Platnium plugs properly gapped/torqed ect... still does it... also cleaned IAC valve and MAF... what else could it be almost feels like tranny is struggling and slipping mainly at 50-60... thinking of getting tranny filter and fluid changed... I'm lost

i had the same type of problem when i first got my expy, except my overdrive light would flash and then the shift points would get really hard... i took it to a tranny shop and was told the solenoids for the overdrive gear were bad... i was skeptikal to say the least so i did the filter change and flush with true mercon V the problem hasnt came back since... also when alot of shops do a flush they use dexron/mercon with a friction modifier additive, maybe im crazy but i don't trust this method... keep us updated

more so like a slipping issue... last night coming home on highway at 65 ish any time I would go up a slight hill it almost felt like something was pushing back against the expy... and plugs/COPs had just been changed about 2 hrs before the return trip home....fuel filter is also only 3-4 months old...

yeah no OD lights flashing... old plugs were anywere from .65-.72 gapped so yeah they were bad... new plugs make the truck seem to run smooth as a hell just at higher speeds... and DGray69 changed plugs while I supervised... :D

Well I'll tell you this much. On a Friday I felt the same feeling on my police car while on the highway. The next day while going into work she died halfway there and would not go into gear. Had to have her towed in:(

My dad has a 97 F-150 and it felt like it was ready for a tranny rebuild @ 165000 miles or so. He got the tranny flushed and filter changed and it worked like new again, like someone mentioned earlier, and issue hasn't came back.

yeah I'm hoping that a flush will be my cure.. running out of ideas... unless selling it and buying a silverado again is a choice... cuz I just rolled 88 thousand miles on my 99.... i know the 37s dont help but will keep at it... need to make sure it can make it to PA in july for 4wheel jamboree....

That sounds exactly like mine drove the night I brought it home. I don't no if it was old fluid or the fact the tranny filter was just floating around the pan but it has drove great ever since the filter and fluid change. I was not able to drain the converter so it was actually only about 6 qts I changed. Gonna drain it again after 5k mi to get some more fresh fluid in there. My tranny hasnst shuddered since.

How did your Expedition turn out with this issue? Did you flush tranny and solve the shuddering?
