What auto wash do you guys use? I was thinking of getting some Maguiers Marine Wash and Wax for it. A fern RVers say they use it on the rig and trucks.

Both rig and TV need a good cleaning. Quarantine wash sounds good right about now.

Thoughts?

Unless your vehicle is made out of fiberglass and gel coat, I would advise against using a MARINE wash/wax on a vehicle that is driven on LAND. not formulated for vehicle paint/surfaces. It’s got chemicals in it to help with water spot removal caused from caked on salt deposits and such that would be found on fiberglass and gel coats. How about Meguiars Ultimate Wash and wax. It’s made for vehicles...

Chemical guys dirt trap two bucket method with honeydew snow foam wash and a super soft wash mit. Always do the tires and wheels first. Follow up drying it with chemical guys speed wipe (do it in the shade or it will dry too quickly and smear) and that gives it a super slick anti static surface

that’s what I have coming. Think it’s only a sampler of the wash though. Maybe a couple in there, can’t think of them right off.

If you are looking for a good quarentine project I would look into ceramic coating. The products aren't too bad if you do it yourself. I have yet to try but considering it. Especially since I promised myself I wouldn't get another black car and now we have two. The rewards are pretty substantial. It's like the best hydrophobic wax that lasts for up to three years... Washing your car basically requires a mild power washer.

Only thing is don't do it if you plan on wrapping your car. It won't stick.

Unless you’re using Walmart brand ceramic waxes you’ll need UV lighting to cure the ceramic coat, if you want to do it properly

What size tires and wheels do you run again?

What offset are those wheels?

The ones I am looking at are 10 or 12mm offset.

Without a lift, I’m gonna see if I can squeeze 33x11.5’s in mine. Still debating on 20’s or 18’s.

I’m afraid that 18’s might be too much sidewall while towing.

I have the 3/2 lift and ended up trimming a lot. As long as the tires are rated for the weight you need I would not worry about going 18’s. A new Superduty has 17’s ,18’s and 20’s and they tow 2-3 times the weight we can tow.

I meant more for my liking versus capability. ;)

I’ll be doing more towing than real off-roading. My off-roading, when I can, will mostly be fire roads and light sand covered roads.

But I know what you mean. Thanks!

I would not use a marine wash. Autogeek has lots of good washes to check out. They also have a great forum full of knowledgeable detailers.

Apex auto YouTube does some great reviews on products. Here’s one on quick detailers

im experimenting w/ wrapping the rear blue oval....I did NOT like the Ford oval wrapped in black.

Im not sure ive found the right color (white) to match the tri-coat white, but its better than black.

I'm in the process of re-doing the rear B-pillar (got some dirt under it)...but in the mean time I wrapped the chrome trim under the windows.

How difficult was it to wrap the chrome trim under the window? I was going to spray it with plastidip and the glossifier cause I've never wrapped before. Looks good though!
