What is this thing behind the sun visor?

Interesting! I'm going to have to google that and then maybe hit the junk yards. Thanks.

As CE said, there is a 2nd set of visors, so you could fold 1 down, turn to cover the light coming in from the doors and then fold the remaining one down to block the light from the windshield

I had a set like that when I put my new overhead console in...I went through two sets of visors from junk yards and decided to modify my originals to fit...so I was missing my coat hooks and mounted the visors above the rear doors..

Oh boy you guys are on a roll....the chin up bar in the back is to keep my dogs confined to the cargo area...it also keeps the dog hair in one place...and as far as my side visors go....I sold the idea to BMW...just waiting for the royalty checks to come in...

JR, I replaced the original front seats because they were all broke down and ripped....I found these on graigs list...they were the middle captains chairs from a 2004 Ford Chateau van...it originally had 4 of these but the guy only saved the middle two...so they didn't get allot of butt time and were super nice for 120.00 for the pair and the colors matched perfect...fit on my seat tracks with minor mods and I love them...recline and dual arm rests...I was gonna look for two more for the back and put another center console in, but its nice to fold the back seat down for cargo space...so I will just have the rear seat upholstered to match the front.

Thanks, I like them. My drivers seat doesn't show a lot of wear for 130,000 miles but the left side has weak springs or something due to entry and exit I think. Its not that bad but I get the sense of leaning slightly left while driving and find myself scooching (technical term) to the right a lot. I may look around the bone yards and see what they reveal... or maybe pull the seat and see if springs can be changed.

Thanks guys. I'm actually working on buying a pair from someone here on the forum. Money is just too tight with the holidays and four kids though.

This in on a Gen2 right?

Anyway don't bother - its pretty much a waste of time. I'd sure like to drive over the idiot who designed these stupid Gen2 visors... Who else upgraded from a 1st gen and noticed they totally ruined a perfectly good dual blade visor design. The gen 1 had 2 full width visor blades that would stay in any position you put them in, the outer one swung out.

The new ones won't stay in place and the weedy dangly little secondary blade is a pathetic excuse that doesn't cover the corner of the windshield (or much else).

Do they have Martians design this stuff?, or maybe blind people?... how can you not get that the very place you need a secondary visor when you have the primary at the side window is the CORNER OF THE WINDSHIELD - thats where the sun will be....

Ye gods these people are stupid... Why take a pefectly good design and make it much much worse...

Rant off...

Alan
